Getting Started

How do I set up my first market?

After signing in, you'll be guided through market setup:

  • Search for your city (e.g., "Houston")
  • Set your home base / focal point (where you start your day)
  • Add green zones — areas where you WANT rides to end
  • Add red zones — areas you want to AVOID
  • Set your minimum hourly rate and $/mile thresholds

How do I analyze a ride offer?

When you get an offer from Uber or Lyft:

  • Tap the floating Puddles button
  • The app will capture and analyze the offer
  • Within seconds, you'll see: Accept (green), Decline (red), or Maybe (yellow)
  • Puddles will also speak the recommendation out loud

What do the colors mean?

  • Green (Accept): This ride meets or exceeds your thresholds. Take it!
  • Yellow (Maybe): This ride is borderline. Consider other factors.
  • Red (Decline): This ride doesn't meet your minimums. Skip it.

Settings & Preferences

What should I set my hourly rate to?

A good starting point is your target hourly earnings. Most drivers set this between $20-30/hour. Remember, this is the effective rate after accounting for pickup time and deadhead miles — not just what's shown on the offer.

What's a good $/mile threshold?

This depends on your market and vehicle costs. A common range is $0.80 - $1.20 per mile. Consider your gas costs, vehicle wear, and local rates.

Can I have multiple markets?

Yes! If you drive in different areas (e.g., suburbs during the day, downtown at night), you can create multiple markets with different settings for each.

Subscription & Billing

How much does PuddleJumper cost?

PuddleJumper is $19.99/month after a 30-day free trial. Most drivers earn back the subscription cost in 1-2 hours of driving.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Google Play:

  • Open the Google Play Store app
  • Tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
  • Find PuddleJumper and tap Cancel

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled through Google Play according to their policies. If you have issues, contact us and we'll help resolve them.

Referral Program

How does the referral program work?

Share your unique referral code with other drivers. When they sign up, process 100 offers, and complete their first paid month, you earn $15!

Where do I find my referral code?

Open the app menu and tap "Refer a Driver." You'll see your code with options to copy or share it.

How do I get paid for referrals?

Once your referral qualifies, we'll send your $15 via Venmo or PayPal. Make sure your payment info is up to date in the app.

Troubleshooting

The app isn't analyzing my screenshots

Make sure:

  • You've granted screenshot/overlay permissions
  • The Uber/Lyft offer is fully visible on screen
  • You have an internet connection
  • You're tapping Puddles while the offer is showing

Puddles isn't speaking

Check that:

  • Your phone isn't on silent/vibrate mode
  • Media volume is turned up
  • Voice is enabled in app settings

I'm seeing incorrect recommendations

Our AI is good but not perfect. If you notice consistent issues:

  • Check that your market settings and thresholds are correct
  • Make sure your green/red zones are properly configured
  • Report the issue to us with a screenshot so we can improve
